London Markets

This wasn't my first trip to London but it was the first time I was able to take in a couple of the markets London has to offer. I still can not get over the size and diversity of the markets available to Londoners. Shortly after arriving in London my mom purchased a London market book, outlining all of the key information about London's finest.

Because we had other sights we wanted to take in my mom and I decided to dedicate two days to visiting Portobello and Brick Lane. These markets offer an amazing selection or food, clothing, vintage pieces, jewellery, silver ware, antiques and so much more. Portobello, a pretty common tourist attraction, was busy with a great mix of locals and sight seers. Portobello Market curves down an old cobble stone street with the shops on either side adding to the amazing collection of goods you can find. My very first stop, Chloe Alberry, had a beautiful collection of vintage goods (including some letterpress stuff!) and house wares. I loved the store so much I did not want to leave it!

On Sunday we ventured a little further out of the city to Brick Lane. This market is incredible and huge! We only managed to take in a small portion but I would definitely suggest checking it out. Brick Lane had a ton of clothing, both new and vintage, with many new young designs selling their pieces at very reasonable prices. The variety of prepared foods at Brick Lane was outstanding and I was sad I couldn't try it all!
